Jamshedpur’s Junior Chess Players Shine at Jharkhand State Championship

Hazaribagh, March 26: Jamshedpur’s junior chess players delivered an outstanding performance at the Jharkhand State Under-7 and Under-11 Chess Championship, which concluded on Tuesday at Naman Vidyalaya, Hazaribagh.

In the Under-7 boys’ category, Ridit Krishnak of Ranchi clinched the championship with 3.5 points, while East Singhbhum’s Ridhaan Goyal secured the runner-up position. Jamshedpur’s T. Niharika dominated the Under-7 girls’ category, emerging as the champion with 3.5 points.


Jamshedpur continued its dominance in the Under-11 boys’ category, with Rudranil Roy securing the championship title after winning all six rounds and earning a perfect six points. Darsh Gaurav finished as the runner-up, while V. Karthik secured third place. East Singhbhum’s Divyansh, Shashish Kumar Singh, and Abhigyan Singh secured the fifth, sixth, and seventh positions, respectively.

Jamshedpur’s excellence extended to the Under-11 girls’ category, where Dishita Dey emerged victorious with six points in six rounds. Esani Choudhary finished second with 4.5 points, followed by Bidusi Munshi in third. Naira Aditya, Soujanya Subhasini Pal, and Arya Shree secured the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, respectively.

The tournament showcased the promising talent of young chess players from Jamshedpur, highlighting their potential for future success.
