Jamshedpur, July 3: City’s green lung Jubilee Park will soon have one more entry gate. The new entry point will come at Marine Drive side. It is aimed to provide better access for the visitors coming from the western part of the steel city. The park presently has three entry points — one is from the Bistupur end and two from Sakchi end.

The work for setting up the fourth entry point is being carried out by TSUISL, a subsidiary of the steel major Tata Steel. “Work is in full progress to set up a fourth entry point for the Jubilee Park. The new entrance to the park is coming up from the Marine Drive side, “said an official.
He said the entry point is being set up keeping in view of the visitors’ rush to the park, especially during the year end and New Year picnic season as well as during the Founder’s Day celebration. The new entrance will be about 500 metres away from the park. Moreover, the visitors willing to come through the new entrance will have to travel about two kms along Marine Drive from the turning point near the Water Filtration Plant on Subarnarekha Link Road in Sakchi.
A gift to the citizens of Jamshedpur by Tata Steel on the occasion of its golden jubilee in 1958, the 237.75- acre jubilee perk, modelled after Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, is considered the green heart of the city. Its breathtakingly beautiful Mogul Garden with its coloured fountains attracts evening visitors by the hundreds. And the more naturally contoured lake area is a popular picnic spot.
