Jamshedpur’s Debanjan Sinha wins 5th Navin Kumar Sinha Memorial FIDE Rapid Chess Championship

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Debanjan Sinha representing East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA) emerged victorious in the 5th Navin Kumar Sinha Memorial All India Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Championship 2025, securing the first position with an impressive score of 8 out of 9 points. He received a cash prize of ₹20,000 and gained 115 FIDE rating points in the Rapid category.

The tournament, organized by the West Singhbhum District Chess Association, was held at St. Xavier’s Welfare Centre, Chaibasa, Jharkhand. The event was officiated by Chief Arbiter IA Vishal Kumar Minz and followed a time control of 10 minutes with a 5-second increment per move.
