Jamshedpur’s DBMS College of Education Hosts Van Mahotsav Week

Jamshedpur: National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-1 of DBMS College of Education, Jamshedpur, organised ‘Van Mahotsav Week’ from July 1 to July 7, 2026. Through a series of week-long events, the unit raised awareness among students and the local community regarding environmental conservation, tree plantation, green living, and a plastic-free Earth.

The celebrations kicked off with a plantation drive of fruit-bearing saplings within the college campus. NSS volunteers, faculty members, and students planted trees and took a pledge to protect the environment.

The third day saw NSS volunteers taking the “Save Tree, Save Green” oath from their homes, gardens, and neighbourhoods. A poster-making competition marked the fourth day. Volunteers also launched a public awareness campaign in the local community, inspiring residents to plant trees and work toward a plastic-free Earth.

On Sunday, the fifth day, volunteers organised a Nature Walk through local parks and gardens, spreading messages on cleanliness, green environments, and biodiversity conservation. On the sixth day, the unit hosted a nature-themed drawing competition at Bal Kalyan Vidya Mandir in Kadma. On the final day prizes were distributed among the winners of the drawing competition.
