Jamshedpur’s Covid-19 death toll breaches 1,000-mark; recovery rate touches 94%

City records 160 new infections, 363 recoveries, 5 deaths

Jamshedpur, May 26: Jamshedpur’s COVID-19 death toll crossed the 1,000-mark on Wednesday as five more patients succumbed to the disease, while 160 fresh infections pushed the state’s caseload to 49,494, a health bulletin said.
As many as 363 more people were cured of the disease, taking the recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state to 94.18 per cent, it said.

The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum  has reached 1003 and the total cases 49494.

Jamshedpur has logged less than 200 daily coronavirus cases for the fourth time in a single week. 160 new infections were recorded on Wednesday, May 26.The Steel City’s case positivity rate has also dropped to 5.50 percent. 

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 5.50 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 2000 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 2373 samples, of which, 160 turned out positive while 363 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Wednesday, May 26.

Meanwhile, 5 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.50 per cent, the government data showed.

The recovery rate has climbed to 94.18% while the active cases have come down to 2029.

363 positive people recovered of the virus on Wednesday pushing the recovery mark to 46462.

Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 5 people succumbed due to Covid on Wednesday, May 26, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.


City reported 5 deaths on Wednesday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 49494. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Wednesday 5 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 1003. 

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 337750 test per million in the district. 

As per the records of health department  out of 2373 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 160 were found positive.

Over 2000 COVID-19 tests, including 1794 RT-PCR and 356 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 94.18% while the mortality rate is 2.03%.

So far in Jamshedpur 899670 samples have been collected out of which 899090 have been tested and 849596 have turned out to be negative.
