Jamshedpur, June 12: Police on Saturday cracked the firing case registered with the Bistupur police station by arresting four persons. Among those arrested were two brothers, Manoj Bibhar and Vishal Bibhar, both residents of Kadma who were the main accused in the gun-shut attack on a youth, Pintu Yadav, near CH Area petrol pump in Bistupur on June 4 morning.
The remaining two arrested persons were identified as Mohammed Tausif and Pervez Ali, residents of Kapali near Mango and Dhatkidih in Bistupur respectively.
A police official informed that Tausif and Pervez were arrested for buying a country-made pistol from Manoj. The police have recovered the pistol and three live cartridges by raiding the house of Tausif.
Senior DP, M Tamil Vanan addressing a press conference this evening produced all the four arrested persons.
” As per our information Manoj Bibhar and his brother Vishal were the main accused in the Bistupur firing. Manoj was the shooter, while Vishal was riding the bike. But after their names figured during investigation of the case, both of them had absconded, ” said Vanan while talking to the media.
The senior SP said the two brothers had launched the gun-shut attack on Yadav in response to rivalry in the Sonari area.
Police had earlier on Tuesday night arrested seven persons, all associates of Manoj Bibhar and had recovered the pistol used in the firing.
A senior police officer who carried out the investigation said that the seven persons arrested earlier were not directly involved in the firing but had helped Manoj in committing the crime and concealed the pistol used in the firing.
The assailants had moved away towards Sonari, triggering sensation in the posh locality. The victim who is a resident of Sonari Gwala Bustee subsequently went to the Bistupur police station and informed the police about the attack.
