Jamshedpur, April 29: Avtar Singh of Jamshedpur turned out to be Jharkhand’s sole medalist on day 3 (Friday) of the 42nd National Masters Athletic Championship being organized by Masters Athletic Federation of India, (MAFI) from 27 April to 1 May 2022 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
National cycling champion Avtar Singh won gold medal in javelin throw in 70 plus age category as Jharkhand team added one more medal to their kitty taking the total to six. This was Jharkhand’s second gold medal in the championship.
At the conclusion of third day, team Jharkhand has won six medals including two gold, one silver and three bronze. With Championship slated to conclude on May 1, Jharkhand is expected to win more medals.
