Jamshedpur: Administrative approval has been granted for ₹4.17 crore for the upgradation of the road connecting Tatanagar Railway Station to Baroda Ghat under the Road Division, Jamshedpur. The sanctioned amount of ₹4,17,51,900 will be utilised to upgrade a 2.85-km-long stretch, bringing major relief to lakhs of residents and commuters in the area.
The approval has been granted following the recommendation and sustained efforts of Sanjib Sardar, MLA from Potka.
Key Connectivity Route
The road connects Tatanagar Railway Station to Baroda Ghat via the Jamshedpur–Hata road and passes through the densely populated Bagbera Colony. It is a vital route for daily commuters, office-goers, students, and local residents, making it one of the most important traffic corridors in the region.
Relief from Dilapidated Condition
Currently, the road is in a severely dilapidated condition, leading to frequent traffic disruptions, inconvenience and safety concerns for commuters. With the proposed upgradation, the riding quality is expected to improve significantly, ensuring smoother, safer and faster movement.
Approval After Persistent Follow-up
Sources said MLA Sanjib Sardar had been consistently pursuing the matter with concerned authorities and had also met Hemant Soren to seek early approval. The project received direct clearance from the Chief Minister, following which administrative approval was granted.
Public Welfare Remains Priority
Speaking on the development, Sanjib Sardar said strengthening infrastructure in Potka and surrounding areas remains his top priority. He termed the road a “lifeline” for lakhs of people and directed officials to ensure quality work and timely completion of the project.
Focus on Infrastructure Development
The MLA added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand government is taking concrete steps to strengthen infrastructure across the state. By addressing long-pending public demands, the government has once again reaffirmed its commitment to development and public welfare.
