Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday inaugurated the Netaji Subhash Medical College at Adityapur, marking a significant boost to medical education and healthcare infrastructure in the Kolhan region. Health Minister Irfan Ansari was also present at the inauguration.

The event was attended by Somesh Soren, Dashrath Gagrai, and Mangal Kalindi, among other dignitaries.

Ceremonial Inauguration
The Chancellor of Netaji Subhash Medical College welcomed the dignitaries with bouquets, after which a prayer was offered. Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Health Minister Irfan Ansari lit the ceremonial lamp, formally inaugurating the medical college.

Land Allotted in 2022, 100 Seats in First Phase
Chancellor M.N. Singh said the land for the medical college was allotted by Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) in 2022 following the initiative of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He informed that the college will begin with an intake capacity of 100 MBBS seats. He also congratulated the Chief Minister and former Health Minister Banna Gupta for their role in making the project a reality.

Third Medical College in Jamshedpur Region
Health Secretary Ajay Singh termed the inauguration an important milestone for Jharkhand, stating that this is the third medical college in the Jamshedpur region. He said there are currently 10 medical colleges operating across the state, a number that is expected to rise to 20 within the next four years.

More Medical Colleges Coming Up
Ajay Singh further informed that the state government is constructing three new medical colleges, with one coming up in Chaibasa and the others under construction in Koderma and Bokaro. He said the expansion of medical education will play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare services across Jharkhand.
