Jamshedpur, Dec. 10: Police today arrested two youths with stolen mobile handsets in Sonari.Those arrested were identified as Vikash Churia (24) and Firoz Alam (22), both residents of Sonari and Kadma respectively.
Deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-2) Arvind Kumar said that both the mobile pohone theft cases had been committed separately.
Vikash had stolen the smartphone by entering into a house at Kagalnagar in the month of May, Firoz had snatched a smartphone from a woman near Kagalnagar Petrol pump in the month of September.
The DSP, when asked, said the victims in the both the cases had lodged FIRs with the Sonari thana, leading the police to put the EMIE numbers of both the stolen mobile phones on tracking. He said after getting the EMIE number followed closely, they succeeded to reach to the accused involved in the crime.
Kumar said while arresting the two accused they recovered the stolen smartphones from their possession.
Sources in the Sonari thana said that after stealing the smartphone from a house at Kagalnagar in one case, and snatching another smartphone from a woman in May and September respectively, both the accused had removed the SIM cards and switched off smartphones with them.
