Jamshedpur, Nov 29: Armed assailants shot at one Firoz in Bandhugora, Kapali, early Friday morning for not paying them extortion money of Rs 2 lakh.
The victim was taken to MGM Hospital where his condition was serious, police said.
Sources said Firoz was shot when he had gone out for morning walk. The assailants reportedly threatened Firoz of dire consequences for not paying them Rs 2 lakh. The culprits had asked Firoz to ask his brother Afroz to pay the extortion money. Afroz had recently sold his house in Kapali for Rs 22 lakh and shifted to Adityapur. The culprits had earlier demanded the extortion money from Afroz. But after Afroz left Kapali, they started threatening Firoz. They also snatched his mobile phone.
