Jamshedpur, October 17: Suraj Sheikh, aged 22 years, lost his life after falling from a moving train late Thursday evening at Adityapur Railway Station.

Suraj, a resident of Adityapur 2 near Gayatri School, was returning from his village in Murshidabad on the Tata–Danapur Express. As the train approached Adityapur, he reportedly lost balance and fell, sustaining severe injuries.

Onlookers immediately alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP), who rushed to the scene and, with local assistance, took him to MGM Hospital. Despite medical intervention, Suraj succumbed to his injuries after several hours.

His family arrived at the hospital on receipt of information. On Friday, the GRP sent the body for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation to determine whether he fell while attempting to disembark or due to a sudden jolt.

Railway authorities have urged passengers to avoid standing near train doors while traveling to prevent such accidents.
