Jamshedpur: Students from Jamshedpur have delivered an impressive performance in the XAT 2026 results declared by XLRI, reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a hub of academic excellence.

According to available data, nearly 1,200 candidates from Jamshedpur appeared for the exam, with as many as 51 students securing over 90 percentile — a significant achievement in one of India’s most competitive management entrance tests.

Prabhjot Singh emerges as city topper

Telco resident Prabhjot Singh emerged as Jamshedpur’s top scorer with an outstanding 99.4 percentile. An alumnus of Gulmohar High School (Class X) and Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco (Class XII), Prabhjot went on to complete his BTech from BIT Mesra.

Currently working as an engineer with Wells Fargo in Hyderabad, Prabhjot began his XAT preparation in August, balancing a full-time job with disciplined study. He aims to clear the interview stage and secure admission to XLRI Jamshedpur, with Business Management as his preferred programme.

Sharing his strategy, Prabhjot said consistent preparation, time management and regular mock tests were key to his success. He had earlier secured 97.83 percentile in CAT as well.

Tata Steel manager Himanshu Kumar scores big

Sonari resident Himanshu Kumar, currently working as a manager at Tata Steel, secured an impressive 99.3 percentile. An alumnus of JUSCO School, Kadma, Himanshu completed his BTech from IIT Bhubaneswar.

What makes his achievement remarkable is that he began his preparation only in December, managing the feat with just a month of focused effort.

Aditya Singh scores 99.04 percentile

Another standout performer, Aditya Singh from Sonari, secured 99.04 percentile. A former student of Motilal Nehru Public School and DAV Public School, Bistupur, Aditya holds a BBA degree from Symbiosis. He stressed that decision-making is the most critical section in XAT, as it is a new area for most aspirants.
