Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Workers’ College organised a road safety awareness programme on Wednesday to educate students and faculty about traffic rules and safe commuting practices. The event featured Mango Traffic Police Inspector Hariodh Karmali as the chief speaker.

Principal Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik welcomed the guests by presenting saplings and highlighted the importance of promoting road discipline among youth. Addressing the gathering, Inspector Karmali said that road safety is not merely a legal obligation but a vital responsibility linked to saving lives. He explained rules related to helmet and seat-belt use, dangers of speeding and the risks of using mobile phones while driving. He also discussed penalties under the new Motor Vehicles Act and answered students’ queries.
Traffic personnel Sanjeev Kumar Singh and ASI Arvind Kumar Singh were also present. The programme concluded with participants pledging to follow traffic norms.
