Jamshedpur: Worker dies in factory accident, kin get Rs 9 lakh compensation

Gamharia, Dec 16:  Nengtasai resident and a worker at Balaji Krishna Engitech Company, Ghanshyam Mahto was killed while at work when his clothes were caught in the punch machine.  The factory is in the Industrial Area. As soon as the news reached his family members, relatives and friends, they gathered in front of the company gate. JMM leaders also accompanied the deceased employee’s family. Ghanshyam’s family and JMM leaders demanded adequate compensation for deceased worker Ghanshyam Mahto’s family. A tripartite meeting was held in the company premises. The company’s managing Director, sanjay Kumar, the deceased’s father, Chandra Mohan Mahto, brother Manoranjan Mahto, Laxman Mahto, JMM central committee member Ranjit Pradhan, JMM district vice president Amrit Mahto, Gora, Dipak Mandal, Anil Soren, Gautam Mahto and Ravi Sardar participated in the talks. A compensation amount of Rs Nine lakh was agreed upon. The company gave a cheque of Rs 8.50 lakh and handed over Rs 50,000 in cash for the deceased funeral rites.
