Jamshedpur Women’s University to host second convocation in February

PG, vocational graduates to receive degrees, gold medals for toppers; Registrations open until Jan 25

Jamshedpur: The second convocation of Jamshedpur Women’s University is set to take place in February, with the university gearing up for the grand event. Students from the PG and vocational courses who graduated in the 2022-24 session will receive their degrees. Toppers will be honoured with gold medals, with the list of medal recipients expected to be released soon.

Students can register online via the university’s official website, jwu.ac.in, until January 25. The registration fee for the ceremony has been set at Rs. 1,000. The convocation will be held at the university’s campus in Sidhgora, and preparations are in full swing. Committees have been formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the event, with an estimated budget exceeding Rs. 10 lakh.

“Convocations are a celebration of academic success. We are committed to making this a memorable event for our students,” a university official stated.

The convocation is being planned before the financial authority of Vice Chancellor Dr. Anjila Gupta ends in March 2025, ahead of the completion of her tenure in June 2025. The university will provide ceremonial dresses to all students and guests attending the event.

The university has yet to finalize the date and chief guest for the ceremony. However, the Governor of Jharkhand is expected to be invited. “We will soon meet the Governor to extend the invitation,” an official added. Notably, the university’s first convocation was held in March 2024.

UG Fifth Semester Exam form filling underway 

Jamshedpur Women’s University has announced the schedule for filling UG fifth semester examination forms. Students can submit their applications online until January 16. Applications submitted between January 17 and January 21 will incur a late fee of Rs. 500.

The examinations are scheduled for February. “We encourage students to complete the process on time to avoid penalties,” the administration stated.

The university’s efforts reflect its commitment to academic excellence and timely execution of essential activities.
