Jamshedpur Women’s University Hosts Third Sports Day at Bistupur Campus, Students Shine in Javelin and Triple Jump

Jamshedpur: Various sports competitions were organised on February 13, 2026, as part of the Third Sports Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Women’s University. The events were held at the university’s Bistupur campus and were conducted under the leadership of Dr. Sanatan Deep, Chairperson of the Sports and Cultural Committee, along with his team.

As many as 88 students participated in the javelin throw competition. Galding Ekka secured first place, followed by Priyanka Saw in second and Phoolmanti Kumari in third. In the triple jump event, Prabha Murmu finished first, Apsara Khatun secured second place, and Manjari Hembrom came third. The winners will be felicitated during the final Sports Day events scheduled for February 21, 2026.

Several competitions were also organised for faculty members. In the spoon race, Neelam Singh won first place, Sudha Singh Deep finished second, and Dr. Sahla Zabin secured third position. In the Bambarding game, Dr. Chhaganlal Agrawal stood first, Dr. Deepasharan came second, and Dr. Gloria Purty secured third place. A tug-of-war competition was also held as part of the celebrations.

On the occasion, Dean of Students’ Welfare Dr. Kiswar Ara, Registrar Dr. Saloni Kajur, and Proctor Dr. Sudhir Sahu, along with other dignitaries of the university, were present and encouraged the participants.

The successful organisation of the event was made possible with the active support of technical assistants, faculty members from the B.Ed. and BCS departments, and non-teaching staff of the university.
