Jamshedpur Women’s University Syndicate okays proposals for new posts, infra development

Jamshedpur, Sep 24: The maiden Syndicate meeting of Jamshedpur Women’s University was held at the Bistupur campus on Saturday. It was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Anjila Gupta. A welcome speech was rendered by the Registrar of JWU, Dr Prabhat Kumar Singh.

Addressing the gathering, the VC said the Jharkhand Governor had nominated experienced academician Dr Satishwar Prasad Sinha as the Syndicate member of JWU. She said Dr Sinha’s experience would be beneficial for the university in taking vital decisions and shaping its future.

Further during the meeting, various important decisions and proposals were passed by the Syndicate members. The logo and anthem of the university were approved and Jharkhand State University Act 2000 was adopted. All statutory and non-statutory committees were approved along with the Sale Purchase Committee and proposals of RUSSA.

The VC approved the names of Dr Javed Ahmad and Dr Kishwar Ara as Members (Science) of the Syndicate. She also gave approval to the proposal for creation of new posts and absorption of old posts. She said vacant posts in the university would soon be filled and retired teachers would be appointed on contractual basis in order to run all classes smoothly.

The Syndicate gave its nod to all proposals passed on 20th August, 1st September and 21st September last. Other decisions that got approval included formation of committee for officers’ allowance fixation, boundary wall reconstruction and other work and exemption in fees to Sabars, third gender and daughters of martyrs and physically challenged police and defence personnel.
