Jamshedpur woman files FIR for sexual exploitation

Jamshedpur, Nov 8: A young woman from Kadma has lodged an FIR alleging that she was sexually exploited by her lover under the false promise of marriage.

The complaint, filed at Kadma police station, states that the accused repeatedly established physical relations with her after assuring her of marriage, but is now refusing to wed.

According to the complainant, she became close to the accused, Nishant Kumar of Bhatia Basti, after they got to know each other.

She stated that Nishant first established physical relations with her in March last year after promising marriage.

Despite more than a year having passed, he allegedly did not fulfil his commitment.

When she pressed him for marriage, Nishant and his parents — Rupa Devi and Manoj Kumar — allegedly threatened and humiliated her.

Feeling distressed, the woman approached the police seeking justice.

The Kadma police station in-charge confirmed that an FIR has been registered against all three accused, and an investigation is underway.

Police added that preparations are being made to record the victim’s statement before the court.

Further legal action will be taken based on evidence gathered during the probe.
