Jamshedpur woman detained on baby sell charges

Jamshedpur, September 1: In the traffic colony of Bagbera, a mother was seen selling her two-month-old baby for just Rs 6000. However, other women passing by noticed the baby. After this the police was informed.

Police is interrogating the woman at Sakchi police station. During interrogation, the woman has told the police her name is Shanti Machhua. She said that she is a resident of Balrampur in Purulia district of West Bengal. She gave birth to a baby two months back in Nimdih hospital and lives by begging in Jamshedpur.

The Jamshedpur police has started contacting the West Bengal police to trace the family members of the woman.

Khairun Nisha, a resident of Bagbera told that she was passing through the traffic colony, when she heard the cry of a girl on the way. The child was with a woman. She went near the woman and started questioning her about the girl. The woman told that she would sell the girl for six thousand rupees. She immediately informed the police.
