Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, August 25: BJP’s Ranchi Rural District In-charge and former Jamshedpur Mahanagar President, Binod Singh accused former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar of distorting the facts in the Bhuinyadih encroachment removal case involving former Union Minister Arjun Munda. During a press conference at the local Circuit House, Singh clarified that Dr. Kumar misrepresented Munda’s letter to the National Green Tribunal (NGT). Singh explained that the letter was not about Bhuinyadih but was written with the intent to halt construction by big builders in the Dalma area and near rivers to protect the environment.

Singh further criticized Dr. Kumar by claiming that his actions consistently favored capitalists, whether during his tenure as SP or while working in the corporate sector. He accused Kumar of siding with the wealthy instead of showing concern for the 150 houses affected in Bhuinyadih. Singh also alleged that Dr Kumar became active only during elections and spread baseless allegations against BJP leaders, noting that he was known in the city as a ‘fugitive’ due to his controversial tenure as SP.

Singh asserted that Kumar, a self-proclaimed candidate from the Jamshedpur Eastern Assembly constituency, was now spreading false rumors against BJP leaders, which the party would not tolerate. The press conference was also attended by former Mahanagar President Chandrashekhar Mishra and Haldhar Narayan Shah.

Arjun Munda misled NGT, Chanakya Niti failed in Bhuinyadih Case: Dr Ajoy

Jamshedpur, August 25:  Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar has accused BJP leader Arjun Munda of misleading the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and engaging in political deceit. In a press statement issued on Sunday, Kumar criticized both Munda and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, asserting that Munda was behind an application to the NGT regarding encroachments in Jamshedpur.

Kumar questioned why Munda, as Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, would involve himself in environmental matters handled by the Ministry of Environment. He demanded that Munda make public the application submitted to the NGT, which Kumar claims concerns settlements in Jamshedpur.

Kumar also accused Roy of attempting to protect Munda and failing to uphold his responsibilities as an MLA. He argued that Roy’s failure to prevent the demolition of houses or adequately address the issue reflected poorly on his leadership and questioned the efficacy of his political strategy.

Kumar emphasized that the truth behind the NGT application would soon be revealed, and criticized Roy for allegedly betraying the trust of the public by not addressing the issue effectively.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar’s claims are lies and deceit: Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur, August 25:  East MLA Saryu Roy has sharply criticized former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar for spreading misinformation and deceit, following Kumar’s return to Jamshedpur ahead of the election season. Roy condemned Kumar’s actions in a press conference on Saturday, particularly regarding Kumar’s claims about a letter allegedly written by former Union Minister Arjun Munda to the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

Roy asserted that Kumar’s allegations—that Munda had requested the demolition of 150 houses in Indiranagar-Kalyan Nagar—were false. Roy revealed that Munda had confirmed he only wrote to the NGT regarding environmental damage caused by multi-storey constructions on riverbeds. Munda denied any involvement in requesting house demolitions and urged Kumar to either produce the letter or publicly apologize for his misleading statements.

Roy denounced Kumar’s attempt to use the issue for political gain and called for transparency and truthfulness in the ongoing electoral discourse. (w/nkm)

Jamshedpur voters should beware of deceptive leaders: Rambabu Tiwari

Jamshedpur, August 25:  Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Rambabu Tiwari has urged Jamshedpur voters to be wary of leaders like former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar and East MLA Saryu Roy, accusing them of deceiving the public and manipulating political sentiments for personal gain.

In a press release issued on Sunday, Tiwari criticized Dr. Ajoy Kumar for allegedly exploiting the sentiments of residents in Kalyan Nagar and Indiranagar. Tiwari recalled that during Kumar’s tenure as Superintendent of Police in the 1990s, he had reportedly registered cases against over 100 residents of Long Tong Basti and overseen their house demolitions. Tiwari claimed that Dr. Kumar, now making a return to Jamshedpur, is attempting to mislead voters as he seeks electoral success.

Regarding Saryu Roy, Tiwari accused him of failing to secure ownership rights for residents of 86 Basti in Jamshedpur over the past five years. Tiwari also alleged that Roy had obstructed various development initiatives during the Raghuvar Das government’s tenure.

Tiwari expressed confidence that the electorate in Jamshedpur is now well-informed about the actions of these leaders and will not be swayed by their statements. (w/nkm)
