Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy, the newly elected JD(U) legislator from the Jamshedpur West assembly constituency, received a warm and grand felicitation at Mango today. Supporters gathered in large numbers to celebrate his victory, weighing him with laddoos as a gesture of their admiration and support.
The felicitation event was held near the Trimbakeshwar Mahadev Temple, where Roy offered prayers to Lord Hanuman before addressing the gathering.
In his speech, the victorious MLA expressed gratitude to the voters of his constituency, saying, “I am thankful to all those who trusted me and gave me the opportunity to serve. My priority will be to complete the incomplete development projects that were left unfinished.”
Prominent supporters, including Mastan Singh, Pappu Singh, Neeraj Singh, Rajesh Srivastava, and Monu Pandey, played key roles in organizing the event, ensuring its grand success.
Saryu Roy, who joined JD(U) shortly before the Jharkhand assembly polls, secured a decisive victory over Congress candidate Banna Gupta. Roy garnered 1,03,631 votes, defeating Gupta by a margin of 7,863 votes, who received 95,768 votes.
The felicitation marked not just the celebration of Roy’s electoral success but also set the tone for his commitment to addressing the developmental needs of Jamshedpur West, as promised during his campaign.
