Jamshedpur Weather Alert: Thunderstorms, lightning, and hail expected

Jamshedpur: Several parts of the State are bracing for intense weather activity as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms and lightning across various regions today. The forecast, released by the Ranchi Meteorological Centre, highlights the possibility of gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph over the western, central, and southern districts of the state.

In addition to today’s thunderstorms, the Met office has also issued a hail warning for Thursday. The forecast predicts hail accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, with wind speeds potentially reaching up to 50-60 kmph in isolated locations across the southern and central parts of the state. Northwestern and north-central Jharkhand are also expected to witness thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds of 40-50 kmph.

The extreme weather conditions are expected to persist into Friday, with meteorologists issuing further alerts for thunderstorms and lightning in northwestern parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the rising temperature remains a concern, with Bokaro and its adjoining areas in central Jharkhand recording the highest maximum temperature of around 39 degrees Celsius yesterday. Despite the storm activity, weather experts suggest that there will be no significant changes in maximum temperatures over the next three days.

Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and hailstorms, particularly avoiding open fields, tall trees, and unsecured structures. Farmers have also been urged to take steps to protect their crops from potential hail damage.

With the unpredictable nature of weather patterns, authorities and emergency services remain on high alert, ensuring preparedness for any adverse effects that may arise due to the severe weather conditions.
