Ghatshila/Galudih, June 14: A youth died In a major accident at Galudih Birsa Fun City Water Park in Ghatshila on Tuesday afternoon.
The youth sustained serious injury when a sliding boat fell from above while taking a bath in the water park. The young man died while being brought to the hospital for treatment. The deceased was identified as Johnny Kaivart (30) a resident of Bagunhatu in Jamshedpur.
It was told that he had reached Galudih Water Park from Jamshedpur with his seven friends on Tuesday. Johnny was the first to land in the water of the water park. His friends were keeping clothes and other items in the locker when suddenly a fast sliding boat came over the water and collided with Johnny. A woman was seated in the sliding boat. The collision was so strong that Johnny bled on the spot. He had suffered a serious head injury.
He was rushed to Niramay Health Care in Galudih from where he was referred to the sub-divisonal hospital sensing his serious condition. He died while being brought to the sub-divisional hospital.
The young man was declared dead by the doctor in the subdivision hospital.
Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Officer Satyaveer Rajak, Executive Magistrate Jaiprakash Karmali, CO Rajeev Kumar reached and took information about the matter from the friends of the youth. Shortly thereafter, SDPO Kuldeep Toppo also reached the sub-division hospital and started action after taking information about the incident.
The friends of the deceased youth told the SDO and SDPO that there is no security arrangement in the water park and blamed the carelessness of the management. When people are bathing in the water below, how was the sliding boat left from above exposing negligence of the water park management.
