Jamshedpur warehouses will not be demolished for now claims Dr Ajoy Kumar, blames BJP for Lal Baba Foundry crisis

Jamshedpur: In a significant development, former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar met with warehouse owners of Lal Baba Foundry on Thursday, assuring them that their properties will not face demolition in the immediate future. Dr. Kumar, after discussions with senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, conveyed that the Chief Minister has assured a temporary reprieve from the demolition. However, he cautioned that a legal battle remains imminent and pledged his full support to the affected owners.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kumar questioned the origin of the current situation, pointing a finger at the previous BJP government, particularly former Chief Minister Raghubar Das. He criticized Das for selectively excluding Lal Baba Foundry from the 86 settlements that were taken out of lease during his tenure. “If this area had been removed from lease along with the other settlements, our legal position would be stronger today,” he remarked. He accused the BJP of “cleverness” in handling the leases and suggested that this was a deliberate move that has now left the warehouse owners vulnerable.

Dr. Kumar also criticized the silence of local BJP leaders, notably MLA Saryu Roy, who he accused of inaction during his five-year tenure. “Saryu Rai is shedding crocodile tears now, but where was he when this issue could have been resolved?” Kumar questioned. He further lambasted BJP MPs Bidyut Baran Mahto and Union Minister Arjun Munda for their silence on the issue, contrasting their inaction with the BJP’s ongoing Parivartan rally.

In his address, Dr. Kumar expressed solidarity with the people of Lal Baba Foundry and assured them that the Congress party would stand by them throughout the legal process. “We must fight this battle together,” he said, promising all possible support in the coming days.
