Jamshedpur: Villagers block Tata Motors chassis yard gate 

Jamshedpur, September 21: In Jojobeda chassis yard of Tata Motors under Govindpur police station of Jamshedpur, villagers demonstrated with traditional weapons and blocked the main gate of the yard.

The villagers allege that the protest will continue until their demands are met. The villagers allege that Khata number 6 and 27 located at Jojobeda is the land of their ancestors. In 1986-87, the villagers were given intervention by the Land Reforms Deputy Collector.

The villagers are living on their land but the boundary of their land is being continuously broken by Tata Motors.

Angry villagers have started a movement against this attitude of Tata Motors. They are protesting with traditional weapons by completely blocking the main gate of Tata Motors’ chassis yard located at Jojobeda.

Landholders Surendra Bhumij told that he was given occupation in Khata Number 6 and 27.

The land is in the name of Munshi Bhumij and Anand Bhumij. Despite this, Tata Motors is forcefully acquiring the land. He said that this matter is also pending in the High Court, yet the villagers are being harassed by Tata Motors. He said that the movement will continue until Tata Motors returns the land to the villagers.
