Jamshedpur, Sept 1: Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and a prominent voice of social justice, Radhey Prasad Yadav, passed away early Monday morning during treatment at Tata Main Hospital (TMH). His demise has created a deep void in the political and social circles of Jamshedpur.
The funeral procession began from his Agrico residence. Hundreds of people, including political leaders and supporters, accompanied him on his final journey. His son, Sunil Yadav, lit the funeral pyre at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat, Bhuinyadih.

Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Rai attended the cremation and offered an emotional tribute. Expressing grief, he said on social media platform X, Radhe Babu is no more. He passed away at 4 am. Visiting TMH, I realized we had lost a pillar of Jamshedpur’s political foundation. He was the backbone of RJD in the city, respected across parties. His simplicity, honesty, and kindness will always be remembered.
Several leaders, including his brother Hiralal Yadav, nephew Srinivas Yadav, JD(U) leader Subodh Srivastava, Congress’s Anand Bihari Dubey, Kulwinder Singh Pannu, Vijay Singh, Golden Pandey, Chandrashekhar Rao, KK Sharma, Ramji Sharma, and many others, were present.
Radhey Prasad Yadav had contested from Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency in 1995 and 2000 on a Janata Dal ticket. Known for his integrity and dedication to public welfare, he played a significant role in shaping RJD’s presence in Jharkhand. His demise has been termed as the end of an era of grassroots politics in the region.
