Jamshedpur, May 22: In a recent statement, Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Labor and Employment, Rameswar Teli, voiced his concerns over the alleged corruption within the Indi alliance and the reluctance of certain states to support the inclusion of petrol and diesel under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) ambit.

During a visit to Jamshedpur, Minister Teli highlighted the disparities in petrol and diesel prices across states due to varying VAT taxes and emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to streamline prices nationwide by integrating petroleum products into the GST framework. Despite the central government’s efforts to reduce excise duty on petrol, Teli noted the lack of corresponding reductions by state governments like Jharkhand.

Teli criticized the Indi alliance, accusing it of evading accountability for corruption and promising to shield wrongdoers from consequences to gain political leverage. He particularly targeted the JMM-Congress and RJD governments in Jharkhand, alleging widespread corruption tarnishing the state’s image. Teli asserted that the BJP-NDA, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, would secure victory in all 14 seats in Jharkhand, including Jamshedpur, with Bidyut Baran Mahato poised to win for the third consecutive time, garnering increased voter support.

The statement was made in the presence of several political figures, including former Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik and BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha, among others.
