Jamshedpur U15s enter JSW Youth Cup final with 3-1 win over RoundGlass Punjab FC

Jamshedpur, April 24: Jamshedpur U15s roared into the final of the JSW Youth Cup following a comprehensive 3-1 victory over RoundGlass Punjab FC in the semifinals of the youth tournament at the JSW Vidyanagar Ground in Bellary, Karnataka.

The Jamshedpur U15 team will now face Bengaluru FC in the final after they also picked up a win in the other semifinal match against Sreenidi Deccan FC.

JFC U15 head coach Akshay Das fielded a strong unit for the semifinal game as expected, and was rewarded straight away as Lawmsangzuala scored from the penalty spot in as early as the fifth minute of the match.

Lawmsang’s goal gave the boys of steel just the start they needed and they entered the halftime break a goal up and in control of the match.

1-0 turned into 2-0 in the 62nd minute of the game as captain Glen Gigi fired the ball into the net to double his side’s advantage, while Lawmsangzuala sealed the deal just seven minutes later with a sweet effort that beat Kuldeep Singh in the RoundGlass Punjab goal.

An 80th minute penalty for RoundGlass was converted by Lalgousem Tuboi but it proved to be scant consolation for the side from Punjab as Jamshedpur saw the game out and booked their place in the final of the JSW Youth Cup.

Jamshedpur U15s will now be in action in the grand finale of the tournament against Bengaluru FC in a match that will kick off at 4 PM on Wednesday, April 26.

The Jamshedpur U13s have an opportunity to join their senior comrades in the final as they get ready to take on RoundGlass Punjab on Tuesday, April 25 with nothing but victory on their minds.
