Jamshedpur, August 30: Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial (LBSM) College’s Anuj Purty and Sumi Birua clinched gold medals in the men’s and women’s category respectively at the National Kickboxing Championship held between August 23 and 27 at Haribans Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi. The National meet was organized by Jharkhand Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association.
Lauding their success, LBSM College Principal,Dr Ashok Kumar Jha, felicitated them with shawls. Dr Jha said, “This year, eight of our students have brought laurels for our institution and made us proud by participating in and winning several prizes in national and international sports meets.”
The college’s sports in-charge, Prof Arvind Prasad Pandit, stated, “Our students not only excel in sports but are also securing stable job positions.”
Among those present at the felicitation ceremony were Prof Binod Kumar, Dr Vinay Kumar Gupta and all the faculty members of the College’s intermediate department.
