Jamshedpur, Sept 2: The Tulgram village in Narda Panchayat under Potka Block of East Singhbhum district is expected to be connected by a culvert over the river for which denizens had been anxiously waiting through 50 long years. In the absence of a culvert that the villaghers had been demanding through the years, they have to wade across the river in pursuit of income and doing so during monsoon was hazardous. But they had no other alternative as their pleas and requests for a culvert over the river to connect them safely to the road on the opposite bank continued to fall on deaf administrative ears. But signs of hope were kindled in the Tulgram villagers when the Rural development Department official and his team took up the initiative to construct a culvert across the river. For the purpose of construction, trees obstructing the project undertaking were felled. The Tulgram villagers are keeping their fingers crossed in anticipation of their 50 year wait ending with the construction of the culvert that they expect would commence after the monsoons
