Jamshedpur: Tribal dissuaded from self immolation 

Jamshedpur, July 16: Distressed by the apathy of the administration, Bahadur Tudu, a resident of Kadma, reached the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday to commit self-immolation.

However, the people present on the spot pacified him.

Bahadur Tudu alleged that he had one and a half katha of land in Baliguma, Mango, which was captured by the land mafia. The case went on in court for 35 years. The court ruled in favor of Bahadur Tudu. Despite this, Bahadur Tudu was not being given possession by the administration, due to which he had reached to self-immolation.

Bahadur Tudu told that he is currently a resident of Kadma Shastri Nagar. He has one and a half kattha of land in Baliguma of Mango, which has been encroached upon. His mother had filed a case in the court. He was fighting the case after his mother’s death. Recently, the court had given a verdict in his favour but he is yet to have possession of the land and had decided to self immolate. He changed after an assurance from the LRDC on the spot.
