Jamshedpur, April 9: Police conducted a raid at a transport company warehouse in the Jugsalai police station area and seized 20 cartons of banned cough syrup, officials said. The operation was carried out at a facility located in the Naya Bazaar Bora Patti locality.
The transport operator, identified as Shashikant Mishra (59), was arrested on the spot and later sent to judicial custody. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 9.66 lakh.
According to the station in-charge, the raid was conducted on April 7 at both the office and the adjoining warehouse premises. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and intended distribution network.
