Jamshedpur Traffic DSP gifts helmets to women on Valentine’s Day

Jamshedpur, Feb 14: Road safety awareness is on in the city. But a novel twist in the drive was observed on Sunday when couples were celebrating eternal love on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Traffic DSP Babban Singh gifted helmets to women riding pillion without helmets and made them take an oath of not riding two wheelers without helmet and neither allowing their partners to do so. The helmets were presented at the Traffic DSP’s office in Sakchi on Sunday. Social worker and well prominent Bollywood starlet Madhuri Dixit Fan Pappu Sardar assisted in this drive on Road Safety.

Both, Babban Singh and Pappu Sardar advised people two wear helmets while riding two wheelers and fastening seatbelts while moving in four wheelers and other bigger vehicles. Pappu also handed pamphlets on road safety norms to vehicle users. Commuters on vehicles including two wheelers were strictly urged not to use mobile phones while riding or driving vehicles. Traffic DSP Babban Singh made it very clear when he said, “Wearing helmets is a must for two wheeler riders and using seatbelts while in cars is a must and using cell phones while driving is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught breaking these rules will face strict action and fines will be charged.”

The ladies helmets were distributed to 41 ladies who had been married within the last six months and were out with their spouses on two wheelers on Valentine’s Day.
