There will be some demonstration too where visitors will be able to see making of puppets and other handicrafts. The Swadeshi mela every year has been promoting the usage of medicinal plants for minor diseases.
Over artisans from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhatisgarh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh will display their products, government agencies such as District Rural Development Authority and NABARD will also put up stalls.
Panel discussions on the current industries will be an everyday feature along with folk songs and dances to woo people.
The organisers further said the Swadeshi Mela was intended to instill confidence in micro enterprise and self help groups. It would also highlight the achievements of Indian enterprise in the wake of growing globalisation.
“We always get good response from the city but it is more important to buy products which are manufactured in the country. This year we planned it in advance and have also finalised the dates so that people interested in putting up their kiosks, majority of them Swadeshi products made in India,” said Manoj Singh, a member of Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
