Jamshedpur: As part of Jamshedpur Winter Fest, Urban Services, CSR Tata Steel is organizing Qawwali Nite � 2019 on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Dhatkidih Community Centre ground. After the unprecedented success of Mushaira over the last few years, Qawaali Nite would be another event being organized for promotion and preservation of Urdu art & literature
The qawwali loving fraternity of the city will have the opportunity to listen to renditions by renowned qawwals, Ghulam Sabir Nizami and Ghulam Waris Nizami, said Jiren Xavier Topno, Head Tribal Culture and Urban Services, Tata Steel.
Addressing a press conference at Urban Services Conference Room on Thursday, Topno, informed that Nizami brothers are one of the most famed qawwali singers in the sufi style. They belong to the legendary Sikenderabad Gharana. The Nizami brothers belong to a family of vocalists who have been rendering qawwali for the last 700 years. They are Darbari Aastana singers of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Aulia in New Delhi.
They have performed all over the country and have performed in Gulf and African countries. They have also performed in foreign countries through India Council for Cultural Relations.
Chandan Kumar, IAS, SDM Dhalbhum has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the evening. The event would be attended by senior Management of Tata Steel and other guests of Jamshedpur.
Urban Services, CSR wing of Tata Steel has been promoting art and culture in Jamshedpur city and organises various cultural events for the local community to showcase their talent.
