Jamshedpur to host antique coins and currency exhibition from January 5

‘JAMCOIN 2024’ begins today, quiz competition on numismatics on Jan 6

Jamshedpur: The city of Jamshedpur is all set to host 29th National Level Rare Coins Exhibition, ‘JAMCOIN 2024,’ organized by Coin Collectors Club. Scheduled to take place from January 5th to 7th at Bengal Club, Sakchi, this event promises a fascinating journey through the history of coins from ancient eras to the present day, said Club members.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, they informed that the exhibition is open to the citizens of Jamshedpur, school students, coin enthusiasts, scholars, and more. Entry to the exhibition is free, and it will be open from 10:00 am to 08:00 pm.

Students in and around Jamshedpur are eager to actively participate in this exhibition. Club members and students from various schools will showcase their coins and currencies, which will be themed from ancient eras to modern times.

The inauguration ceremony of ‘JAMCOIN 2024’ will take place on 5th January 2024 at Bengal Club.

To encourage school students, a Quiz Competition on Numismatics will be held on 6th January 2024 (Saturday) starting from 03:00 p.m.

Members and school students will display their coins based on themes such as British India coins, proof coins, Hyderabad princely state coins, coins from small islands, and more. Additionally, there will be displays of currencies based on themes like dictators on world banknotes, polymer currencies, high-value devalued currencies, error currencies, and others.

Prizes will be awarded to all the winners and runners in the categories of School Coin Display, School Quiz, and Club Members’ Coin & Currency Display.

This year, more than 15 schools, with over 20 club members exhibiting their coins and currencies. Additionally, more than 15 dealers will be participating in this exhibition.
