Jamshedpur: Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) is planning to install e-toilets in Mango. As per a decision taken by the municipal body, one of the e-toilets will be installed at a public place while the other will be installed in some school. This was informed by Sanjay Kumar, special officer of MNAC.

He said the e-toilet will be fully equipped with electronic devices and would serve to promote both the Digital India and Swachh Bharat campaigns. At present, no municipal body of Jharkhand has such toilet, Kumar said.

Kumar went on to inform that a public e-toilet would cost Rs 5 lakh while a school e-toilet takes Rs 1 lakh. Made of steel, the e-toilets would have very low maintenance cost with composting and power conservation facilities.

Entry to the e-toilet would be customized and would facilitated by entering a coin or giving a voice command, said Kumar, adding that the toilet roof would be fitted with a solar panel. The toilet will also have LED bulbs, exhaust fan and a wash basin, Kumar said.
