Jamshedpur, February 28: In a significant step towards providing a dignified and environmentally responsible solution for pet owners, Jamshedpur’s first pet crematorium will be inaugurated on March 1, 2025. The facility, funded by Tata Steel, aims to offer a safe, hygienic, and structured method for the disposal of pet remains.
The crematorium, located near the Kennel Club in Jubilee Park, will be inaugurated by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, in the presence of Ruchi Narendran. This initiative reflects Tata Steel’s commitment to sustainable and community-centric projects.
With the increasing number of pet owners in the city, the crematorium will ensure a respectful farewell for beloved pets while also addressing environmental concerns. Previously, pet owners had limited options for pet burials, often leading to improper disposal. The new facility provides an eco-friendly alternative, reducing the ecological impact.
The pet crematorium is expected to bring relief to animal lovers in Jamshedpur, setting an example for other cities to adopt similar humane and sustainable initiatives.
