Jamshedpur, Feb 12: With less than three weeks left for 3rd March, preparations for 184th Founder’s Day has picked up pace in the city. Permanent steel structures are being erected for illumination at three prominent squares of the city. They are situated near Beldih Kalibari, Beldih Club roundabout and Marine Drive roundabout near XLRI. These roundabouts would remain illuminated the year long and add beauty to the city. They would be dedicated to the city on Founder’s Day, sources said.
Sources said 39 roundabouts and heritage buildings would be lit up on Founder’s Day. Tata Sons Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran will be arriving here to attend Founder’s Day events.
Sources said a permanent tubular structure would be built in place of Rose Garden at Jubilee Park. Besides, the triangular park near Bagmati Road close to Keenan Stadium along the Straight Mile Road would be converted into Corona Warrior Park which would be dedicated to Corona warriors. The park would be made with fibre-reinforced plastic, sources said.
Ahead of Founder’s Day, a two day vintage car rally would be organized on 25th and 26th February. It would start at Gopal Maidan and culminate at United Club. Its theme this year is ‘Colonial India’, sources said.
