Air service to extend to other districts, Sahibganj to get airport: Hemant Soren

Jamshedpur, Jan 31: Addressing a gathering after flagging off the maiden flight from Sonari Airport to Kolkata, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, “The government is making sincere effort to improve traffic system in the state. From road to air, the connectivity network is being expanded to provide maximum amenities to the people. Air service will also be soon available from Jamshedpur to other cities.”
Soren said the state government will soon come up with a new airport in Sahibganj.
“Local people will immensely benefit from the air service which would also see the city embark on a renewed phase of growth. It will boost industrial development in the state. I wish success to this initiative,” he said.
Soren said there were half a dozen airports in the state which was much better than other states. An airport is also proposed to be built in Sahibganj. All airports are being renovated, he said.
“The government is preparing a work plan to link all districts to air service in order to promote air connectivity. In the coming days, common man will get air connectivity just like it is in other countries,” said the CM.
Soren said the Urban Development Departmnet was working continuously to improve air connectivity in the state. A commercial pilot training centre has been opened here, he said.
Soren has requested the Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to ensure speedy completion of all processes regarding licence and security of the pilot training centre.
It’s good. Let us hope that it continues. Earlier also this was started but couldn’t continue.
