Jamshedpur, Sept 13: A committee comprising three Chartered Accountants has been formed to audit the accounts of District Bar Association (DBA), Jamshedpur, before its elections. Jharkhand High Court has directed the committee to submit its audit report before 17th October. It has also asked the former office-bearers of DBA to submit all relevant documents. The next hearing will take place on 17th October.
It may be mentioned here that a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by advocate Rajesh Jaisawal in the Jharkhand High Court to demand audit of DBA accounts. As per tradition, the DBA office-bearers present the accounts and audit report during its AGM before election. Two receivers have been appointed on behalf of the State Bar Council in this case, sources said.
