Jamshedpur, March 22: The court of ADJ-2 Abhava Verma delivered its verdict on Friday in the high-profile case of the murderous attack on Bablu Singh, a resident of Sanjay Nagar, Kitadih. Out of the 14 accused in the case, three individuals, namely Ranjeet Singh alias Chhota Ranjeet, Gupteshwar Giri alias Leda, and Ajit Sahu of Railway Traffic Colony, have been found guilty. The court is scheduled to decide on the sentencing for these individuals on March 30.
Meanwhile, 10 accused were acquitted due to their absence during the proceedings. The acquitted individuals include Pappu Ghosh, Rahul Rajbhar, Basant Upadhyay of Carriage Colony Barmines, Suraj Singh alias Suraj Bachha of Gandhinagar Baghbeda, Vishal Kumar, Deepak Tiwari of Ramnagaram Baghbeda, Rakesh Rajak of Lal Building Baghbeda, Chaman Kumar of Jugsalai, Gadhabasa, and Satyendra Singh, Bunty Kumar alias Bunty Chaudhary. Accused Kamdev Sharma alias Bodyguard has been isolated from the rest.
The incident, which occurred on September 9, 2021, at 9 p.m., saw Bablu Singh, a security guard who also operated a gas repairing shop on Sanjay Nagar Kitadih Main Road, being attacked. Singh recounted that on the night of the incident, a group of 10-15 assailants arrived at his shop searching for him. Despite being warned by his father-in-law Bharat Lal Singh, Singh was ambushed near the running guard room in Kitadih while on his way to the shop. He was brutally assaulted by the attackers, who wielded pistols, bricks, and stones, and subsequently shot by Ajit, Gupteshwar, and Ranjeet. Singh sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to TMH for treatment, where he underwent medical care for injuries to his stomach, legs, back, and thigh.
