MP hands over Rs 1 lakh cheque to the family
Jamshedpur, June 19: The residents of Baharagora bid the brave heart Ganesh Hansda( 21) a tearful adieu on Friday. Emotions soar during his final journey that was taken out from his residence at Kosafalia village in Baharagora block of East Singhbhum district. On the occasion Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to Dinesh Hansda, brother of martyr Ganesh Hansda.

Hansda was martyred at border during clash with China at Galwan Valley.He belonged to Bihar Regiment and was deployed at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

The jawan�s last rites were performed with full military honour at an ancestral land near his residence. People in large numbers participated in his last journey. The villagers raised slogans like �Ganesh Hansdaamarrahe� and �Bharat Mata ki jai� amid showers of flower petals on martyr�s dead body. Slogans were also raised against China and people called for boycotting Chinese products.

The village of Kosafalia under Baharagora block of East Singhbhum district about 90 km from district headquarter plunged into grief as the dead body of Ganesh Hansda arrived at 10: 30 am by a chopper from Ranchi.
The casket containing the body was kept at his residence where senior army and administrative officers laid wreaths as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
With tearful eyes people tried to have a last glimpse of this braveheart who fought for the nation.
A crowd of around 1000-odd people, including police officers ,defence personnel and local residents had turned restive as the vehicle belonging to the state government carrying the body reached his house.
The gloomy silence at the Kosafalia village broke as family members and relatives of Ganesh started wailing when the vehicle carrying the casket arrived. The local police had a tough time controlling the crowd of sympathisers and moaners, who had been waiting for the arrival of the body. His mother Kapra, wailed uncontrollably.
“The country has lost a patriot who sacrificed his life to protect the borders of the nation. Ganesh�s death is a supreme sacrifice. He will be remembered as a martyr,” said Bidhyut Baran Mahto, the local MP while bidding a tearful adieu.
Former BJP State president Dineshanand Goswami, former Health Minister Dinesh Sarangi, JMM central committee member Aditya Pradhan, former MLA Laxman Tudu, Ghatshila SDO Amar Kumar visited Ganesh�s house to pay their last respect. Several Jharkhand ministers visited the martyr village to pay tributes after casting their votes for Rajya Sabha elections in the state. Minister Joba Majhi, Transport minister Champai Soren, MLA Ramdas Soren, MLA Samir Mohanty, MLA Sanjeev Sardar arrived before the last rites to pay homage to Ganesh.
