Jamshedpur, Nov 20: Birsanagar police have solved a theft case reported from Vijayanagar, arresting two accused and recovering stolen jewellery and other items.
The arrested have been identified as Vikas Das (23) and Rohit Gorai (24), both residents of Road No. 3, Birsanagar.
Police have recovered two nose pins, a nose ring, a pair of silver anklets, a silver hand ornament, a mobile phone, coins worth Rs 5–10, and a bag from their possession.
The case was formally disclosed on Thursday by Birsanagar Police Station in-charge Santosh Kumar.
According to police, the duo had allegedly broken the lock of the house of Ashok Kumar Mourya and stolen jewellery and cash, amounting to nearly Rs 1.20 lakh.
Acting on the instructions of the SSP, an SIT was constituted under the guidance of the City SP and led by the DSP. Swift action by the team helped trace and arrest the accused involved in the theft.
Both accused are being processed for judicial custody and will be remanded to jail soon.
