Jamshedpur: Theft accused punished within 35 days of FIR

Jamshedpur, August 11: The Bistupur police has punished the accused of theft in the premises of Tata Steel Company within 35 days from the date of registration of the FIR.

Regarding this, on Friday, SSP Prabhat Kumar honored the investigator of the case Gurudayal Singh Munda and Bistupur police station in-charge Anjani Kumar with a cash prize and a citation.

During this, SSP Prabhat Kumar said that this is the first time in his tenure that the police has been punished by the court within 35 days. He told that on July 5, an incident of theft took place in the company premises.

On July 6, the accused were sent to jail after registering an FIR. Within 24 hours of registering the FIR, the investigator of the case, Gurudayal Singh, filed the charge sheet. On August 10, the verdict came in the case and the court sentenced the accused Mohammed Sabjan and Rakesh Kumar Sah to three years imprisonment.

Earlier, SSP Prabhat Kumar held a meeting with the police officers at the district police headquarters. During this, he said that a list of habitual criminals has also been prepared by the police. It includes the names of a total of 42 criminals, against whom three or more cases are registered. Among them there are criminals who have gone to jail in cases like murder, Arms Act, snatching and robbery.
