Jamshedpur, Feb 25: The power pangs of Baridih Shantinagar and Shaktinagar residents may soon be cleared with Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Ltd (Tata Steel UISL) agreeing to provide electricity to these two localities. It was at the behest of Saryu Roy, the Jamshedpur East Assembly MLA who took up the cause for the people of these two Baridih localities with Tata Steel UISL authorities who agreed to supply power to these areas.

It may be mentioned that legislator Saryu Roy went to Baridih Shanti Nagar and Shakti Nagar areas on February 19 and during interaction with the residents he was informed that they (the residents of Shantinagar and Shaktinagar) had been making the rounds of the Tata Steel UISL (earlier JUSCO) through the past several years to get power connections but their attempts did not yield any result. The Shantinagar and Shaktinagar residents urged MLA Saryu Roy to take the initiative for provision of electricity by Tata Steel UISL and he gave his assurances to them. A Tata Steel UISL team surveyed the area for electricity supply in the two Baridih localities. The Shantinagar and Shaktinagar residents expressed happiness over their power problems about to be addressed and said that this had become a reality for which they were indebted to Saryu Roy.

Saryu Roy’s personal secretary Sudhir Singh, BJM Yuva Morcha President Amit Sharma and other party members were present during the survey. (w/gsd)
