Jamshedpur, Nov 28: The fourth state level athletic championship will take place at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, on Sunday, December 8.
The event is being jointly organized by the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand and the Masters Athletics Association of East Singhbhum.
This year’s championship will feature a new addition: a 2 km road race for students aged 12 to 18 years, and a 3 km race for men and women across all categories. The competition’s T-shirt was launched on Thursday, November 28, at the club in Telco.
The launch event was attended by several key figures, including Vijay Singh, President of the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand.
Vijay Singh shared that this year’s event is being organized with improved planning based on experiences from previous years. He also announced that for the first time, all participating athletes would receive T-shirts. The event is expected to attract around 1,000 athletes from various districts of Jharkhand, competing in different age groups. The top performers in each category will be given the opportunity to participate in the 2025 National Masters Athletics Championship.
In addition to the traditional track events, the road race will be held, with prizes, medals, and certificates for the top three finishers in both the 2 km junior race and the 3 km senior race.
School students and master athletes from various schools in Jamshedpur will also compete in their respective age groups.
The event’s organizing committee has completed nearly all preparations for the competition, which promises to be a significant sporting event for Jharkhand.
