Jamshedpur Summer Camp from May 11, registration begins

Jamshedpur, April 17: Promoting Sports as a way of life, Tata Steel’s Sports Department is set to organise Summer Camp 2024 between May 11 to 31 at JRD Tata Steel Sports Complex.

The event is aimed to create awareness about fitness, wellness and healthy lifestyle amongst the young generation of city and encourage them to take up sports activities, said Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel.

Addressing a press meet at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Tuesday, Chaudhary stated that apart from providing training in various sporting disciplines like swimming, archery, horse riding, volleyball, hockey, roller skating and more, sports department is also planning to organise informative sessions on ‘good touch and bad touch’, menstrual hygiene, nutrition and hydration and more this year, that would provide meaningful insights into these subjects.

The 21-disiplinary summer camp will offer a host of sports training ranging from Swimming to Horse Riding to Cricket to Hockey to roller-skating and others.

For Swimming, Zumba & Horse Riding the free per participant is Rs1700, Badminton & Cricket Rs1200 Chess, Roller Skates/ Roll Ball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Football & Golf Rs700 and for Archery, athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Handball, Karate, Kabaddi, Volleyball ,Yoga and Hockey (Sessions will be conducted at Naval Tata Hockey Academy)the fee is Rs 400.

Greatly enthused by last year’s overwhelming participation in Jamshedpur and other locations of Jharkhand and Odisha, we are planning to organise similar summer camps this year at Kalinganagar, Joda, and other RM locations, along with Meramandali and Gamharia.

Summer Camp in Meramandali will be held between May 10 and 25, and in Kalinganagar between May 13 and 26. The camps at both locations will offer coaching in cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, swimming and hockey.
