Jamshedpur, Feb 28: An awareness program was organized under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) at Karim City College, Jamshedpur today regarding the first National Voter Awareness Competition started by the Election Commission of India. The program was organized by the district administration in collaboration with the NSS unit of the college. Under this programme, the students were made aware of the rules of participation in the competitions to be held till March 15.
Addressing the programme, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena said that the purpose of this competition is to make voters aware as well as increase their participation and tell the importance of democracy. There is no age restriction to participate in this competition, people of all age groups can participate in video making, singing, quiz, slogan, poster design competition. This contest is about your participation. In such a situation, there is an appeal to the people of the district to brighten the name of the district and the state by participating in this competition in large numbers.
Deputy Election Officer Kanu Ram Nag, Social Media Publicity Officer Lakshmi Purti, College Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, HOD Mass Communication Dr. Neha Tiwari, NSS Program Officer Dr. Ale Ali, NCC Program Officer Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed, Coordinator Syed Sajid Parvez, Professor Dr. Nida Zakaria, NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets and students of the college were present. Uday Chandravanshi conducted the stage in the program and 50 volunteers, including NSS volunteers Bishakha, Priyanka, Shivani, Namrata, Ayush, Ashish, Shubham, Sanju, Ameesha Afreen, contributed to its successful event.
